BOSTON -- After a two-month stretch between victories, the Philadelphia 76ers celebrated for the second time in less than a week. Wesley Matthews Jersey . Michael Carter-Williams and Henry Sims scored 24 points apiece and led the Sixers on a late surge that was too much for Boston to overcome in Philadelphias 111-102 win over the Celtics on Friday night. "We really wanted this win. I think its a great win for us," said Carter-Williams, who scored seven points during an 11-4 run for the Sixers late in the fourth quarter. Thaddeus Young and Elliot Williams added 15 points apiece for the Sixers, who have won two of four since tying an NBA record with 26 straight losses. Philadelphia capitalized on 22 turnovers by Boston and overcame a triple-double by Rajon Rondo, who finished with 11 points, 16 assists and 11 rebounds for the Celtics. "Were on a roll!" Philadelphia coach Brett Brown with a smile. "Im just so proud of their ability to play as a team and continue to do the right thing and have a true desire to get better." The Sixers held Boston scoreless for nearly four minutes late in the third quarter and scored 35 points in the fourth, pulling away while going 11-for-17 from the field and making 12 of 17 foul shots. Sims led Philadelphia with 10 points in the fourth for a new career high in points. "We just kind of turned it up a little bit. We just got more and more into guys and tried to stay aggressive on the defensive end," Young said. "It just shows progress and it just shows growth. This is a young team. A lot of guys, people dont really even know about but these guys are trying to make a name for themselves." Celtics fans are getting to know the young Sixers well. Although Philadelphia has lost 28 of 31, two of the three victories have come in Boston. Boston has lost seven straight and twice this season to Philadelphia, which has won just 17 games. The Sixers edged the Celtics 95-94 on Jan. 29, then didnt win again until beating Detroit last Saturday to avoid setting the longest losing streak in NBA history. Jerryd Bayless scored 23 points for Boston and Brandon Bass finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Jeff Green added 15 points for the Celtics, who went 3-12 in March and fell to 0-2 in April. "We have everything to play for," Rondo said. "We have pride as a team. Right now were not displaying that at all." After struggling through the second quarter, the Sixers kept it close until pulling away late in the third and never allowing the Celtics to retake the lead. "Im sure theyve had their down moments, obviously, throughout their losing streak, but tonight wasnt one of them," Boston coach Brad Stevens said. "They played well. We played not well. Thats that." Philadelphia closed the third period on an 11-2 run and led 76-71 entering the fourth quarter. The Sixers held Boston without a point for nearly four minutes in the third before Kelly Olynyk ended Bostons drought on a putback with 14 seconds left. Philadelphia opened the fourth on a 6-2 run and held a nine-point lead three different times before the Celtics made a run and cut the lead to 89-86 on a three-point play by Green with 6:04 left to play. Carter-Williams got the Sixers running again with a layup, then took a steal in for another layup and scored seven during an 11-4 run that put Philadelphia in command at 100-90 with 2:21 remaining. After opening the game 2 for 11 and committing seven turnovers in the first quarter, the Celtics overcame the sluggish start in the second period and outrebounded Philadelphia 16-8. Trailing 31-28, the Celtics came up with back-to-back offensive rebounds on one possession before Bayless hit a 3-pointer to tie it. Leverkusen said on Friday it signed Schmidt on a two-year contract. He guided Red Bull Salzburg to the Austrian championship this season.ST. LOUIS -- Theres one preseason game left for Aaron Rodgers, who figures hell play at least a half against Seattle. Guess what hes dying to do? "Id like to score a touchdown, thats kind of the first priority," Rodgers said after the Green Bay Packers settled for field goals off three productive drives in a 19-7 victory over the St. Louis Rams on Saturday night. "But weve had four good drives, four out of four. Weve just got to get more points, weve got to put the ball in the end zone." Rodgers got the Packers (1-1) on the scoreboard for the first time in the preseason. Not that coach Mike McCarthy had been worried about an offence that averaged 27 points last season, or the final score for that matter. McCarthy said his first priority was quality opportunities for players, the second was effective play in all three phases, "and the third priority is winning the game." "If you dont like that, I get that," McCarthy said. "Trust me, I want to win every play, every game, but were a young team." Sam Bradford had only himself to blame for putting up nice numbers, going 8 for 12 for 156 yards, with nothing to show for four possessions. His highlight throw was a 57-yarder that hit Chris Givens in stride to the Packers 4, but Bradford fumbled away the snap on fourth-and-goal from the 1 late in the first quarter with the Rams (0-2) trailing 3-0. "Thats on me. I just missed it," Bradford said. "Ive got to make sure I have the ball before I get out of there. Its unacceptable. "You cant have that happen. Thats what cost us this game." Both Packers starting wide receivers are out with injuries, so Rodgers leaned on tight end Jermichael Finley while going 10 for 12 for 134 yards. All three drives stalled and the Packers had a pair of field goals by Mason Crosby when Rodgers turned the offence over to backup Graham Harrell in the second quarter. The Packers got shut out 17-0 by Arizona in the preseason opener with Rodgers playing just one series. The Rams averted a shutout on a 26-yard touchdown pass from Austin Davis to Nick Johnson in the final minute. The Rams got offensive skill upgrades, tight end Jared Cook and wide receiver Tavon Austin, involved for the first time. Cook had a 37-yard reception, almost all the yards coming after grabbing a low pass from Bradford, and Austin caugght four passes but for just 28 yards. Jose Juan Barea Mavericks Jersey. "When youre part of an offence thats supposed to put up points, those are the things you have to look at," Cook said. "Thats our job and thats what were supposed to be here for. "The fact that we didnt do that is bothersome." Isaiah Pead started at running back for St. Louis, a chance to gain on front-runner Daryl Richardson, but was held to 19 yards on 11 carries. Packers first-round pick Datone Jones, a defensive end, did not dress after injuring an ankle last week. Wide receiver Jordy Nelson is expected back from knee injury in time for the opener and Randall Cobb, who had a team-leading 80 receptions last season, has a biceps injury. Finley caught four passes for 76 yards in the first half. Rookie Eddie Lacy, competing with injured DuJuan Harris for the running back job, had 40 yards on eight carries plus an 11-yard reception by the break. Crosby was 3 for 3, connecting from 34 and 48 yards in the first half on Rodgers series, and adding a 30-yarder in the third quarter that had enough despite getting tipped by the Rams Cody Davis. Tryout Giorgio Tavecchio missed a 49-yard attempt in the first quarter and hit a 38-yarder near the end of the half for a 9-0 lead. The Rams stalled at the Green Bay 38 on their opening drive when Bradford hit Austin for a 3-yard gain on fourth-and-5 and Greg Zuerlein missed a 50-yard field goal attempt on Bradfords other possession. Bradford threw a touchdown pass in the preseason opener, a 27-19 loss at Cleveland. Johnny Jolly made big plays on two interceptions against Kellen Clemens in the third quarter, deflecting a pass at the line that was intercepted by Jarrett Bush to set up a field goal, and then picking off Clemens in the end zone. The latter took punt returner Brandon Smith off the hook for a lost fumble at the Green Bay 10. Clemens, competing with Austin Davis to be Bradfords backup, has thrown two interceptions in both preseason games. He was 2 for 11 for 27 yards. Vince Young opened the second half at quarterback for Green Bay and was 5 for 29 for 26 yards. Will Witherspoon started at outside linebacker for the Rams ahead of Jo-Lonn Dunbar, who is suspended the first four games for violating the NFLs substance abuse policy. Dunbar saw his first action in the second quarter. Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys Jerseys From China Wholesale NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys ' ' '
